Mrs. Flores, MHS - Health, Wellness & Social Education
Emily has a B.A in History from University of Colorado Boulder, and completed Colorado State University’s teaching licensure program. While her husband attended grad school, Emily developed a passion for educating and working with students at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Boston. She progressed through several positions at MIT that involved supporting students and found her niche in supporting health and wellbeing! She taught a class at MIT in the Physical Education Department called “Upgrade your Health and Happiness”. Since then she and her husband (and dog) moved to Boise. At Boise State University, Emily developed a support program for underrepresented minority students majoring in science, technology, engineering and mathematics while also pursuing a Masters in Health Promotion at Boise State. She is excited to pursue her dream as a Wellness Educator here at Sage!
In her spare time she loves spending time with her husband and daughter. Although she has had numerous knee surgeries (which has also enhanced the impetus towards her interests in health), she enjoys gardening, yoga, swimming, hiking, mountain biking, and rollerblading. She likes being outdoors and volunteers at the YMCA. Emily is excited to be at Sage working with the high school students and hopes to upgrade their health, happiness and wellbeing.
