You guys rock! We have been talking about slopes and worked through the calculus section of the book. You have practiced the power rule and we just got done exploring with the chain rule and product rule. You have even done some combination problems, and tough ones at that.
We focused on reviewing problems that have been on past SATs. I gave you all time to figure out what assignments you are missing so that you could put together a plan to get those in to me.
Finish up your cumulative frequency packet if you have not already. Also you need to finish the three IB external test problems.
More with LOGIC!
I hope by now you have a good understanding of conjunctions and disjunctions VS implications and combinations of the two and the ability to product truth tables. Remember that IB love to test on the converse, inverse and contrapositive of implications. p => q. HW is 507-08 #1-7 all and 509-10 #1,3,4
We have started talking about logic and truth tables. We will go back and look at cumulative frequency graphs this week and probably have a small summative grade assessing your ability to work with and interpret information from such graph
Ok we had our first summative on Sets and Venn Diagrams on Thursday. I decided to split this summative up from the combo descriptive statistics and sets summative that I was going to give. We will have a review week on the statistics when we get back from break and then a summative on Thursday for the Statistics section. HW is due the Monday after break.
At the beginning of the year we talked briefly about sets before we continued with sig figs. We are now going a little deeper with the idea of sets and using diagrams to represent sets. HW due Monday the 15th is set 3a and 3b.
We are continuing with descriptive statistics. For those of you that had the DT field trip on Thursday we went over how to generate a frequency table and a box and whisker plot just given the cumulative frequency graph. a good example is on page 144.
